REmixed Emotions

During the late part of the 80’s and early 90’s, party goers in the Philippines experienced the surge of remixed classic love songs or ‘slow jam remixes’ as they were popularly known back then. They were arranged so well that they became very popular in the Philippine dance circuit during those times. A lot of the songs were made by remix service companies, most of which had long ceased operating. And some were done by Filipino dj’s such as DJ Jamtrx (R.I.P.) . It was very expensive to obtain these remixes before as some were only available in vinyl and were for strict dj use only. But came mid 90’s, they were released in bootleg cd’s to the delight of the followers of the genre. I used to buy my copies in the now closed Solidman Record Bar in Manila. Sadly, as new style of dance music came in so does the demise of this type of remixes started. So many run off the mill remixes were also made and a lot of them weren’t as good as the early releases that in my opinion didn’t help sustain its popularity.

‘Remixed Emotions’ would have been my Valentine’s day offering but I was not able to finish the mix on time as I have been on night shifts these past two weeks. But it’s better to be late than never as the old saying goes.


The songs included in the mix are some of the best examples of the genre mentioned above and I have included extended versions of some of the classic dance tracks that were popular during those times.

So without further adieu, I now present to you , 1 hour and 10 minutes of the best classic slow jams. Be prepared to fall in love again…
